One of the objectives with my web-based set of drill-down diagrams is a way of organizing for reteival a whole bunch of legacy docs. Obviously, the diagrams have to be relatively stable to suite that purpose.

So how do I handle the changes?

I am contracting with a large company that is very web intensive and is rapidly changing. However, at the higher levels, the basic functions do not change . Additionaly, I have a series of 8 1/2 by 11 diagrams, and the changes affecting one or more of them can be handled without that much trouble. If I have a big 7 foot by 10 foot diagram (as John mentioned), then changes become unwieldly alot quicker.

As John says the biggest problem [with a set of drill-down diagrams for system documentation] was with maintenance as the system was

PITA to keep updated and once I left the company I'm told it rapidly
went out of date.
