On page 170 in JoAnn T. Hackos' "Managing Your Documentation Projects,"
she uses the estimate of "4 hours per topic of help information" for
"context-sensitive help" and "4 hours per topic, including hyperlink
links" for "comprehensive help.
Are there any statistics on average number of help topics written per
day? I need to show management why a propose release schedule is
extremely unrealistic, as far as documentation is concerned. It would
certainly help my case if I could quote statistics from a professional
organization or recognized authority.
