For example:

"Fourth, the BLS survey focuses on the duties of employees, not on their titles. Titles can be misleading because 
they do not consistently reflect responsibilitiesâfor example, one companyâs manager is anotherâs director. The BLS 
data show how other employees with similar duties are compensated, and therefore provide a more effective basis 
for comparison."

and 

"The 2005 STC salary survey shows the mean annual salary for the entire United States as $67,520. The BLS data for the same year report a mean annual salary of $52,817. What could account for this discrepancy?
