I think that would depend on a lot of factors about which I would have
little or no information. I certainly didn't when I got my current
job. All I did was to be myself.

I never know whether I'm THE person for the job; again, too many
unknowns. I guess that being on this and other lists, blogging,
volunteering in my local STC chapter, etc. all help make me more
visible, but those are less about visibility and more about, well,
doing stuff that I like doing.
Nutshell: If I'm different or if I stand out, I attribute it to being
a byproduct or side effect. Differentiation is not on the menu today
or any other day.
