Mostly, the manager (or someone else US-based)
has to spend a lot of evenings on the phone and
spend time during the day nagging US-based
people to keep data and review communications
flowing because the overseas writers can't be onsite
during the day to do the legwork. You also miss out
on a lot of free lunches because you can't take your
team out personally.
