Hey Roger,

This falls in the wild brainstorm category, but... I've used a single-file
personal wiki called TiddlyWiki before that uses Javascript to write changes
to the HTML file. It's pretty slick--all in the browser. You might be able
to take some techniques from it to create a way for users to edit the files
easily (say, Ctrl+F11 invokes edit mode, then they click on a block of text
to make it editable). 

This would probably work better for loose HTML files, but it might work for
HTML Help if they make their modifications pre-compile. I don't think it'd
work inside the CHM viewer (but I'd love to be wrong on that one...).

I've wanted to try this approach to simplify the one-off edits some of our
OEM partners make, but it's always been too low a priority...
