And technical writing is not communication? All documentation is a form of
written communication. Some documentation is technical. What class or
category is non-technical documentation?
The arguments here seem to suggest that all documentation is technical
writing. There might even be people who believe that the U.S. Constitution
is a form of technical writing. The U.S.C. contains analytical,
adversarial, historical, and technical components. Does the presence of
technical content make the entire legal document the product of technical
writing? No, it does not, but this forum cannot answer the question of what
to call non-technical writing. Not all writing is technical, but the
arguments here suggest that all writing in business is technical.
