I love it, it's like a form of translation, from engineering docs to language for users to make the most of the software product.

I was a programmer from 1966 to 1982. Part of that time, I was involved
in programming language standardization (BASIC and COBOL). I've been
writing ABOUT software ever since.
Despairing of the STC, I have opted not to renew my membership this
year. I have rejoined ACM after a 25 year absence. We'll see about
DOCSIG..... Look at the respective dues for STC and ACM. Look at the
respective benefits packages.
I will keep an eye on STC, and will probably even send them feedback
about what I experience in ACM, in hopes that they will expand their
usefulness to us in the software docuumentation game
