I doubt that's usually the case. Me, I'll take whatever title they hand
out (though I've often been invited to make one up). But when I was
managing teams, I encouraged them to think of themselves as communicators
rather than "mere" writers because I think it is a more accurate
descriptor for what I do. I don't want people on the team who think they
can just sit in the corner and "write." This worked for me. But of course
it isn't the title alone that matters. It's whatcha do widdit.
