Well, when I did an unofficial survey of some people, they liked the
terms "sales person," "marketing," "technical support," and "technical
writer." They didn't like Technical Communicator. Why? According to
those I asked, they said it sounded "stuffy" and "pretentious."
I'm not doing the labeling. The people I asked did. Technical Writer
wasn't denigrated. The word "Communicator" is, however, confusing to
people. "What do you mean? Oh, you mean a writer. Well, say it, then."
I'm sticking with Writer.
