TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I think of Windows Vista as the Windows ME of this decade:
particularly bloated, bad at handling drivers, requires a lot of
machine power that's not standard, and so on.
That's just my opinion.
Oh, wait, according to the >>>3.6 Mb<<< of email files from Microsoft
Executives that got leaked a few months ago, they may think similar
thoughts. Check this out for opinions from people at MS at the
Executive VP level. They don't like Vista much,
either. http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/print.asp?entryID=132891
Can it be made to work? Probably. I know people who actually got
Windows ME to work, too. But that didn't mean you'd want to try.
Yours truly,
John Hedtke
