Hmmm, Dan? This is about Tech Writing.

I've pushed this issue many times at many jobs. At one company I was
the ONLY non-exempt employee. Why? I brought in a lot of money and
presented a killer case. I also managed to press them for a 10K raise
at the same time.

It was a good year.

And yes, I've been threatened several times by employers if I didn't
work overtime. So they do, in fact, FORCE you to work overtime.

Good for these people! Fight on! I know I do. I walk into every
interview, inevitable get asked about overtime, politely state that
they can pay me to be less efficient if they want. If they still
insist? Well, they end up paying me more...a LOT more.

I still get jobs. I still work an average of about 45 hours a week and
I still get all of my work done.
