Subject:Re: MS Word Text Form Fields From:"Chris Morton" <salt -dot- morton -at- gmail -dot- com> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Thu, 15 May 2008 12:44:05 -0700
This is for a much larger, networked Curam-based application that simply has
an MS Word component. Std. letters are offered in the form of templates,
which can be populated by way of standard clauses AND freeform editing of
the (copy of the) template itself. One of the trainees wanted to know why
you couldn't TAB from field to field. The answer is, apparently, that the
template would have to be locked to provide this functionality (it isn't).
Training everyone to use the LOCK/UNLOCK command would be too much, I'm
afraid. These are state employees (!) who never even knew MS Paint ships
with Windows, know nothing of even semi-advanced features offered throughout
Windows/MS Office, etc.
Thanks for the education, though.
