Contract long enough and you'll run into the abusive manager who dumps
on you in performance reviews if you chose to go home on time rather
than finish work. They'll also posit 1:1 comp time as fair exchange for
overtime. 

When I run into that situation, I have only one response:  Hold one hand
out, palm side up. Slap it gently with the back side of the other hand.
