RE: typeface colors and contrast: how light is too light?

My thought is that document design, which fonts to use, which colors to
use, etc., is as much an art as a science. However, light fonts on a
light background and dark fonts on a dark background will reduce
readability, and you can provide side-by-side samples of that.
Cheers,

Thanks, Sean! Good question. No, our deliverables were not considered
when the colors were created.
I forgot to mention that we already use colored headings in our
template, so a precedent and therefore an expectation is set. Now
management wants those colored headings to match the corporate palette.
I will think about your other ideas for using corporate colors (logo and
lines), but I would also like to find standards or other helpful guides
for determining appropriate levels of contrast. Maybe we could go with a
darker version of the selected corporate color.
