I didn't overlook anything, Gene. I knew exactly what I was trying to tell 
the OP, and the reason I was trying to tell the OP what I was trying to 
tell the OP is that standard reference sources include software 
development as part of "the IT industry". I had no reason to assume the OP 
knew that. 

Do you assume the OP knew that? If so, on what basis do you assume that?
