I'd like details of how you use Word ::without:: issues. I use Word
often, and have for years both professionally and academically, because
it seems to be what "everyone" uses, and when sharing docs for
collaboration, fewer problems come up from porting a document form one
format to another. Though I can and do use OO and Star Writer, even on
docs created in Word, the transition isn't always perfect.
That said, I don't know how anyone can use Word without noticing
problems. Perhaps you have more skill or luck than anyone else I've
ever discussed this with; and I admit I've yet to use any program that
didn't have its quirks. But implying that anyone who finds Word quirky
or difficult to use, particularly with large or complicated documents,
is ignorant or tasteless is not only insulting - it isn't helpful to
anyone who runs into problems with the program, and particularly someone
who (like the original poster) is trying to expand their skill with &
knowledge of its features.
So, Lee, what is it you'd like to do? Someone here is likely to have an
idea how you can achieve your goal, even if it means suggesting a
different program.
