How will we be effected?

I am hoping to find a way to ask this question without causing any disagreements on here, but as all the US members, and I am sure all the members around the World know, we in the US are in the middle of a VERY LONG presidential campaign. The economy is a huge issue in the campaign, and I am wondering how people think that the election will effect our profession and the IT industry as a whole. I am hoping to get responses that do not bash one side or the other, but would be interested in those responses OFF LINE.  
 
For myself, I tend to be in a bit of a bubble, I am not far out of DC and my company does a lot of federal work, although we are breaking into commercial as well, but being here I do not know if I get an honest look at how our profession is influenced by political changes and would just be interested to know what people think. As I said, I do not want to start any fights, so if it is not possible to answer without being too partisan, please just email me off the list.
