I think that comparing MIFs is likely to tell you about a lot of differences
you probably don't care about, like every little change in formatting.
What about FrameMaker's own compare feature? (File>Utilities>Compare
Documents) It's not the greatest, particularly if you have a lot of tables
(beyond a certain point it will simply flag the whole table as changed
rather than looking at it cell by cell). But if tabular information is important
in the comparison, you can make copies of the files and convert the
tables to text before comparing.
