TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Here is a resource that I have found invaluable. Using these principles has
always resulted in a job offer (if I got an interview), and increased my
interviews by about 50% compared to what I was doing before.
Nick Corcodilo <http://www.asktheheadhunter.com/whoisnick.htm>s is the
headhunter, and he also has a book that I recommend to anyone who is looking
for work. Listed on his main Web page, it's inexpensive, short, and really
can make a difference if you follow his advice. Not only that, but he
answers e-mail questions! He helped me a lot.
I will also look at your resume too, and see if I have any comments--I used
to have a resume business and most folks had good success with the makeovers
I suggested. (No charge to out of work technical writers.)
Good luck :-)
