Subject: Re: Annoyed with Tech Smith
Lauren's $10 comment makes me think of the $10 upgrade/insurance plan
TechSmith offers. I purchased v8 last year and took the $10 insurance
plan. When v9 came out after my year was up and I renewed my upgrade
fee, I would have had to pay full price for the upgrade had I not kept
the annual insurance, and instead I got the upgrade for free. I found
it kinda nice when techSmith emailed me a download link via email
telling you that you're eligible for a free upgrade.
Notably, my employer has had v8 for 2 months with a suite of 10 licenses
and now v9 is out and I am not sure if they can get the free upgrade as
I did not make the purchase myself.
Myself, personally, I recommend the extra $10, and is at least worth
thinking about it when purchasing SnagIt for the first time.
