I'm tex - ted out...

Truthfully? I think that the beauty of the English language is falling
to the wayside and it is becoming increasingly utilitarian... And that a
lot of the developments in our language are leading to the dumbing down
of people.... Distancing them from higher literature and
comprehension....

Sometimes I find what we have to write downright silly.

"Be careful not to drop the glass when removing it from the packageing.
The glass could break." <DUH>

Messages on paper coffee cups - danger, contains hot liquids, could burn
when spilled...

And now a verb "to text". Well I guess the verb is a natural development
of language for "text messages". I suppose we could have "to message" -
but what is really happening is a lot more than that.

C u l8r - not "see you later"

And we wonder why there are so many educated people out there who can no
longer read or write!!!

Make sense?

Deborah
