Are you suggesting that you can plug any USB printer into a switch and
it will be shared? Is the IP address of the switch enough--how does that
work if the printer itself doesn't have an IP address?

Switch. A hub just expands the number of ports you have, a switch is
what will let you share functionality.

They do also make print servers, wired and wireless, which might be a
solution if you may add another computer to the mix.

Personally, I am a fan of TigerDirect.com. I've always had great
interactions with them, and I'm always happy when a stellar (mostly)
online company also has some brick & mortar stores.
