The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
We have a product that has a number of screens with very similar names and quite a few screens that you can get to in different ways. As thereâs a slight lull (famous last words!) and I thought I try and may them out, initially for my own benefit but also possibly to be added to the docs as an Annex. Iâve had a couple of thoughtsâ
I could do it by hand, A3 sheets, and show the paths. Fine for me, if cumbersome, but probably not very useful for inclusion in the docs
I could use Visio, Help package, âbrainstormingâ software, spreadsheet etc and do it that way
I could simply tabulate each screen â name, function, how to get there
Anybody else done anything like this? How did you do it? What did you use?
