We had great recommendations on Alfresco. I believe that some people from
Documentum deciced to do their own open souce Document Management System.
However, for some reason, we could not get Alfreso to work (we were unable
to install it). 
 
We have tested Knowledge Tree and it seems OK, at first sight.

We need an open-source Knowledge Management that runs on Linux.

It's a compelling argument...though I hope its not something in the vein of

Yes..but isn's sharepoint free for most purposes...? Its also free with the
OS. Its freely downloadable and everything...

I have no idea if any of these is comparable to SharePoint or Documentum,
having used SharePoint only briefly, and Documentum not at all. I'm not
