TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Why should anyone debate this? There has never been a debate, only people
trying to change other's minds (or opinions) while declaring that their
opinion will never change, regardless. That is not a debate. That isn't a
conversation.
I am convinced that the STC will never set up an institute and never
establish any kind of certification program open to those who wish it.
Cheers,
Donald H. White

Certification won't "prove" they have the knowledge, John.

Good idea. I'm not going to get back into the debate, either. :-)
Anyone else care to "not debate"?
