Of course you can delete styles in normal.dot. Open the Organizer
dialog and delete them!
There are 4 styles you cannot delete - Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3
and Normal.
However, if you delete the other built-in styles, they remain
available, but using default settings, and aren't actually stored in
the template. However this is true of all templates, normal.dot is
nothing special in this respect.
