> My question for you folks is, how do you all cope with "good enough,"
> and how often does it show up?
I agree with John that everything I release is "good enough" for the
deadline. It can always be improved, but often there is not enough time to
make the improvements, so they get incorporated in the next revision.
When I get "that's good enough" from someone trying to cut corners to
impress their manager, or to cut time because "they have more important
things to do," I usually log that information, carry the grudge until I can
make them look like fools in front of the entire world. Okay, maybe not the
grudge, or making them look like fools, but I do have absolutely no
tolerance for people using the "good enough" as an excuse for creating
mediocre work.
