Oops - Vista, Office 2007, but I have an interactive tool that shows
commands between 2003 and 2007, so if you know it from the 2003
perspective, that's fine too.

Subject: Slightly OT: PPT question
I know that as TCs, many of us have used many different tools, so I am
hoping that a PPT question is appropriate for this list. I am currently
working on developing some PPT slides and a Quick Reference Guide in
Word to support remote field training for my client's field technicians.
The meter software for which I am developing the training is written in
"serial-killer" style - that is, everything that should be uppercase is
lowercase and everything that should be lowercase is sometimes uppercase
. Don't ask me why - it's just what I have to work with. When I am
documenting actual steps or screen captures, I obviously follow the
unofficial rule of using exactly what the user will see onscreen. For
example, "autoTest." If a need to write "click autoTest" that's what I
write - not Autotest, or autotest. Well, for any bulleted list or
beginning of a sentence in PPT or Word, MS likes to >>THINK<< for the
writer and automatically capitalizes the first word in a bulleted list
or at the beginning of a sentence and this is a royal PITA for me. When
I am whipping through the development of a list or a procedure, I have
to manually go back and lowercase everything that was automatically and
erroneously uppercased by MS and it's a big timewaster. Is there any way
at all to turn off automatic capitalization of these items in PPT and
Word? It would save some time and teeth-gnashing on my part.
TIA,
TVB
