First of all, Word 2003 isn't "going away." Just to put things in
perspective, you can still buy Word 2000 on a new, licensed,
shrink-wrapped CD.
Second of all, I highly recommend becoming familiar with the new
interface. You might eventually have to work on a machine that uses Word
2007, and you don't want to get bogged down. For starters, check out
<http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA100744321033.aspx>, an
interactive guide for finding Word 2003 menus and buttons in Word 2007.
It's been widely reported that all of the old dialog boxes can still be
accessed in Word 2007, and all of the old keyboard combinations have
been preserved. Cut the mouse cord!
There are also various add-ins for sale that restore Word 2003 menus and
toolbars to Word 2007. But why pay someone else when you can do it
yourself for free?
