"If I were hiring retail clerks, I'd toss the resume that (was) trying to
snow (me) with ... pompous BS?"
I'd schedule an interview for the one that said "Operated a cash
register, counted, and closed out the drawer at the end of the night."
Right on Richard. I once ran a large computer sales/service organization and
I can tell you from experience that if you pump up your resume with "pompous
BS" it would end up in the circular file. I didn't need pompous, I needed
people who could run cash registers, close a drawer at the end of their
shift, perform outstanding customer service, and new there way around a
computer system. If I got a resume filled with gobblygook, my opinion of the
person was someone who would inflate their resume with important sounding
words, but was probably incapable of doing the job.
