ANN: New Look, New Name, Same Online Certificate Program
Malaspina University-College has a new look, and a new name.
The Ministry of Education for the province of British Columbia
recently designated Malaspina as a regional university with
the new name 'Vancouver Island University'.
Running out of 4 campuses spread around the region, Vancouver
Island University has been in existence (as 'Malaspina') since
1969 and continues to serve its widely dispersed student body
with a breadth of both trade and academic programs.
Vancouver Island University (VIU) has a highly-respected
online development team and is active in online education
in both the credit and non-credit areas, drawing students
from around the region and around the world.
The Technical Communication Certificate program at VIU has
been in existence since 2004. Its focus has always been on
training working professionals to help them upgrade their
skill set in order to advance and make lateral career moves
within their organizations. With a focus on software training,
VIU has recently expanded its program electives to keep up
with the changing demand of the industry.
