One of the teams I'm currently working with have been using PVCS for
some time, with both FrameMaker and RoboHelp documents. I haven't much
experience with this combination myself, but it looks like it hasn't
gone horribly wrong in the last five years, at least :)

At a previous job I was using Perforce for source control with RoboHelp;
that also worked fine, as long as I stayed well away from any sort of
'check in only if changed' setting. I tried it once, and chaos
ensued...
