Which is why the only time I'd ever submit a resume
to such a listing is if I'm not currently working.  

My guess is that a lot of other people feel the same 
way, which leads to anonymous listings getting fewer 
applications from people who are currently working
in the areas the listing companies most want people 
to have current or recent experience (or any other
area, for that matter).

Tech hiring usually happens in waves.  When one
company is looking for people with current or recent 
experience in a particular area, the odds are that it's 
competing for candidates with other companies in the 
same field looking for those same people.

Which leads to the reason why I never post job listings
anonymously.
