Subject: Sr Tech Writer job?
Just found one listed, requires HS diploma, pays $19/hr. It's over 150
miles from my home. It's career-change time, isn't it?

I've seen worse (well, worse pay, at least). And those adds always tend
to reappear as new postings over the course of months, or even years.
But every tech writer needs to start somewhere, and I've known some fine
technical writers over the years that had enough job experience to give
them a solid foundation in technical writing without having any college
instruction in it, and I've seen lower-paying starter positions for
technical writers.
As for the title... I'd guess "Sr" probably relates more to the pay
scale and job titles within that company - my first gig out of college
was a senior technical writer. Everyone in the group - new like me, or
20 years in the field - was a senior technical writer. And there were
no "junior" positions.
