Reading everyone's comments, I have a question, and here is how I have
always organized photos:
Question: Why do you add a date to the name of the picture? In Windows
Explorer (and I would guess any SW), the date of the picture can be
displayed?
As for how I handle pictures, I have my Figures directory, and an
originals subdirectory. Unprocessed or source files go in the originals
directory; finals in the Figures. One Figures for each project.
Naming:
db_xxx.png for dialog boxes
icon_xxx.png for icons
msg_xxx.png for message boxes
I try to be consistent, and never have spaces in any of my file names. I
guess it is a bit simplistic, but I always found what I needed using
this method....
As for versions, since each new manual version was a new set of Word
documents, I just copied the old figures directory in, and then updated
photos accordingly, with new photos as needed.
However, reading everyone else's comments, I must be missing something
here.
