>> As my grandfather used to say and he's never been proven wrong, more education does not make you smarter.<<
Keith,
There is a reason your Grandfather has never been proven wrong....
I would, however, add the qualifier "necessarily" to his sage statement. IMHO, "smart" is the ability to learn without always having to be formally taught. For some folks, education is the first step in *becoming* smart(er), for others it can quickly become a road block.
We've all met people who are educated beyond their intelligence, i.e. who can deftly regurgitate what they have been taught by others but can't use that knowledge base to produce new information or solve problems that they have never been exposed to. Every June, our public High Schools are rolling out herds of these myrmidons in increasing numbers....and many of them will go on to achieve public office.
TWIT,
Darren

Yes, having a degree has never been proof of anything except the ability to know how to get by on tests. As my grandfather used to say and he's never been proven wrong, more education does not make you smarter.

I've been bemoaning that fact that I never finished my MBA and it's held me
back from management positions. Well, it goes to show you just how dumb
management can be. They are amongst the herd of wildebeests going over
cliff, chasing a trend without thinking about the consequences.
