That's correct. This battle is not worth fighting, at least not by you.
I assume that *someone* at GE Healthcare approves user manuals. Present
the situation to them, and let them decide.
Your company has document approval procedures, and you need to encourage
everyone to follow them. If the procedures are unsatisfactory, you need
to work to improve them.
