Advice on problems with AVG?

My licensed copy just froze up--it's good till Sept. I'm on Vista, SP1.

I'm a little disturbed/anxious about this. I tried to repair it but couldn't
find the files it needed.

I'm going to try downloading and re-installing, but if anyone has advice
about what might be happening, I'd appreciate it immensely.

I will cross-post this query--hope no one minds.
