When your boss asks you to collaborate with a colleague, you should
probably think about your *current* job, and not about gathering samples
for the next one.
Besides, if all of your samples are collaborative, that could indicate
that you play well with others.
That's true, Dan. I figured it goes without saying that one's current
position should always be a one's priority from a professional
standpoint. It should be equally obvious that collaboration is a good
thing. I'd never suggest otherwise, and was not doing so with my post.
I was just presenting a hypothetical situation that people might run
into ten years down the road, when shared content is more ubiquitous.
Of course, if shared content was truly ubiquitous, I'm sure that the
skill sets valued by hiring managers would be different.
