There is software like this. It takes 2d images, created 3d forms based
on the images and then maps the images to the forms. Unfortunately,
it's a plug-in tool for AutoCAD, which costs about $3500.
This is an impressive 2d-to-3d project at Stanford University, but I
don't think it would fit the particular application you have in mind:
