I don't remember if Joel said, but when he says "render the unit
unresponsive", does he mean that it just sits there because it doesn't
recognize the command, or does he mean that the machine locks in such
a way that nothing you do will make it respond to even correct
commands?
In any case, how about saying "The unit will not respond to mistyped
commands." if the former, or "The unit will lock up and prevent any
further action if the command is mistyped."?
