TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
As more and more organizations have been using DITA,
it has seemed to me that there has been a largely
unanswered need for information about the standard
and how to use it. XML Press has been looking at
a variety of possible publications related to DITA
to help meet that need.
To make sure we are headed in the right direction,
we have posted a survey at the XML Press web site: http://xmlpress.net/ditasurvey.html. It is a short
survey (6 questions) that should only take a few
minutes to complete.
I invite anyone who is working with DITA or thinking
of working with DITA to take the survey.
As a thank you, we will send the results of the survey
to all interested participants, and will select one
participant at random to receive his or her choice of
either my book, Managing Writers: A Real World Guide
to Managing Technical Documentation, or the first XML
Press book about DITA.
Best Regards,
Richard Hamilton
