Buried in there is an alternative method using Word Options:
"Go to your office button > Word Options (bottom right corner) > Trust
Center(Left bar) > Trust Center Settings... > Privacy Options > Uncheck
"Make hidden markup visible when opening or saving" OK and your done!"
Did this and it worked! (I'd rather avoid the macro.)
