Misc: Making outsourcing work for you (one for the Friday files)
Subject:Misc: Making outsourcing work for you (one for the Friday files) From:Geoff Hart <ghart -at- videotron -dot- ca> To:CEL <copyediting-l -at- listserv -dot- indiana -dot- edu>, TECHWR-L Writing <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Thu, 07 May 2009 08:33:46 -0400
Many years ago, I was at a conference and someone I knew from various
Internet discussion groups mustered the courage to ask me how I
managed to find the time to do all that writing. Cracking wise, I said
that I subcontracted all my work so that it wouldn't get in the way of
my real life. <g> Well, apparently I wasn't the only one thinking of
this option: http://www.theonion.com/content/video/more_american_workers_outsourcing
Or: http://tinyurl.com/ddza52
It's not in the best of taste, particularly if you're suffering under
the current harsh economy -- the Onion isn't exactly renowned for
tasteful humor or avoiding kicking people while they're down -- but
it's still awfully funny.
