I tend to have a lower regard even for software that doesn't come with a printed
manual.
A friend of mine who runs his own one-person software company which shall remain
nameless (editing his periodic manual updates for him is the only all-software
work I do these days) includes a small printed document with each of his
products. He once told me that there's a term that describes a software product
that doesn't have a manual: "bittorrent download."
