After a while, my Pro 8 would not update past 8.1.3 without reinstalling
it. To reinstall the latest version, see if the Pro 8 evaluation
installer is still available at Adobe.com. Otherwise, use your own
media. Then just activate it afterwards. Then every so often, run a
repair via the control panel to keep it running smoothly every month or so.
