dpi is meaningful relative to the originals only if the dimensions were
specified, e.g. if you said you wanted the photos 6" wide.
If you place a 240 dpi image in FrameMaker at 300 dpi, it will be 300 dpi in
the PDF (unless you set Acrobat to downsample), but 20% smaller. E.g. a 6"
wide image will be 4.8" wide.
If you place it at 240 dpi, you'd be most likely to notice any artifacts
when printing, or when viewing the PDF at, say, 400%.
