I don't have the answer for you specifically, but when I googled
"FrameMaker An internal error occurred while writing imported graphics in
this document. The file has been saved, but has lost some image data.",
lots of potential answers came up.

The answers range from:
- XP SP3 seems to be a problem.
- Resources (such as memory) are insufficient (if the graphics are big).
- Graphics should be imported by reference (not directly).
- File permissions for a graphic, FM file, or drive location are read-only.
- And more...
