Congrats on your new job!

I'm myself the first technical writer in the company I work for and they've
never worked with technical writers before! In the company I worked for
before, I was also the first technical writer (and never had worked with
one!!). This is indeed a very gratifying position but that implies a lot of
work and to be persistent in the choices you'll make. Good luck ;)
